What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Planning and Analysis Manager position at Ecore Athletic?
We are growing and looking for a new Financial Planning and Analysis Manager to find new and improved ways to do things. You will partner with our business leaders to understand financial metrics and what we need to modify to change the business results. As we are building out new systems and ways of using our data, you will gather data, develop an integrated financial modeling and reporting approach that provides a wide range of analysis and reporting to reach short- and long-term financial goals.
LOCATION: hybrid 2-3 days per week in office
SALARY RANGE: $105,000 - $135,000, depending on experience
CORE CONTRIBUTIONS:
Strategic Insight and Innovation
- Identify and implement innovative financial models and analytical tools to improve forecasting accuracy and strategic planning.
- Find repetitive and manual tasks that can be automated to save time and reduce errors, such as data collection, reporting, and basic analysis.
- Regularly review and refine financial models to incorporate new data, insights, and best practices.
- Implement Budget controls and tracking mechanism to ensure operational controls and financial metrics for manufacturing and capital.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Operations, and HR to ensures comprehensive and accurate financial planning.
- Facilitate the flow of information between finance and other departments, ensuring financial data supports operational needs and vice versa.
- Learn the core business processes and workflows and identify the critical Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for different departments and how they align with overall business goals.
- Develop deep insights into operating costs, capex, inventory, reserves, obsolescence, staffing, manufacturing drivers, cost of goods, inventory, operating expenses, revenue, etc.
- Understand the business, including long-term objectives, how the company plans to achieve them, how the business generates revenue, and the various cost components.
- Analyze trends and key variances to plans and partner with leadership to develop and support improvement plans.
- Create more dynamic and flexible financial models that can be easily adjusted for different scenarios and assumptions.
- Present financial information clearly and concisely to non-financial stakeholders with reports and dashboards.
- Provide actionable recommendations based on financial analysis. This involves not just presenting data but interpreting it in the context of business strategy.
- Regularly seek feedback from stakeholders and continuously improve financial planning processes and tools.
- Develop and deliver management presentations for senior leadership.
- Prepare annual operating budgets, plans, monthly forecasts, maximizing the use of planning tools to drive efficiencies.
- Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, competitive landscape, technology and the regulatory environment.
- Find industry best practices in FP&A and incorporate them into the company's processes and methodologies.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCES:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics
- 7 years of progressive experience, with a strong focus in financial planning (budget, forecast), financial analysis, and business case modeling in a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated analytical ability and high degree of intellectual curiosity
- Experience with ERP
