Description

We have an immediate opening for a Line Lead to oversee an assigned production line including labeling, filling and packaging according to production schedule while ensuring safety, quality and efficiency.
Key Job Functions:
- Supervising the proper labeling, filling, and packaging of product as it passes the production line
- Assisting line employees as necessary to maintain an efficient pace while ensuring quality and safety; performing work on the line, as needed
- Evaluating performance of the production line workers and rotates on a consistent basis (every one to two hours, as needed) to ensure all safety guidelines are met and cross training occurs on a regular basis
- Completing day by hour worksheets, ensuring the numbers are valid/accurate and efficiently entered on-time each hour
- Recording scrap and gives to Production Supervisor/Plant Manager at end of each day
- Performing safety checks as instructed by Production Supervisor and Safety Coordinator on a weekly basis
- Assisting in entering information into Deacom, using scanner to input production
- Handling product changeovers to ensure that line stations are ready for next product run with correct laser printers, labels, filling heads, etc., as well as capable personnel
- Ensuring all product has the proper container, cap, and carton by inspecting the work completed by line
- Ensuring bottles, caps, cartons, and filling equipment is neat and clean
- Making sure UV light is on and running properly and ensures sanitary regulations are met
- Ensuring all caps are securely fastened and product is filled to the proper level
- Reporting equipment problems and/or failures to Production Supervisor and Maintenance immediately, following up to ensure an appropriate resolution is met
Reporting personnel issues to Production Supervisor immediately, following up to ensure an appropriate resolution is met- Directing the cleaning of all equipment at the end of shift and/or during work hours, as necessary
- Ensuring recycled items are placed into correct bin according to standards and educates employees on proper recycling techniques
- Participating in cross-training activities to ensure knowledgeable on all production lines
- Handling other special projects and requests, as needed
In order to be successful, you will need:
- At least two to three years of lead/supervisory experience in a production environment, preferably with multi-head filling machines, front and back labels and cappers
- Strong computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office as well as ERP systems
- Ability to safely lift bottles, boxes, tools, equipment, and other necessary items
- Ability to multi-task and supervise production lines
- Ability to manage time effectively
- Detail oriented with the ability to read, comprehend, and follow instructions
