Job Description:
ECS Federal is currently seeking a full-time Business Analyst (remote position).
The Business Analyst will deliver client-facing writing and consulting services to support the development of communications for the Department of Veterans Affairs' (VA) Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) Office of Business Process Integration (OBI). The office supported oversees multi-million dollar project management activities and business analysis services for its staff offices, business lines, and affiliate VA Organizations, to include diverse initiatives and the implementation, modification, sustainment and portfolio management of VA software applications and systems.
Tasks may include:
- Identifying and addressing client needs:
- Building solid relationships with clients.
- Communicating with the client in an organized and knowledgeable manner.
- Delivering clear requests for information.
- Demonstrating flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks.
As a team member:
- Understand personal and team roles.
- Contribute to a positive working environment by building solid relationships with team members.
- Proactively seek and provide guidance, clarification and, feedback to less experienced staff.
- Develop, analyze, evaluate, advise on process improvement.
- Exhibit cross-functional partnership with key stakeholders.
- Content management for program, office, and divisional websites.
- Communicate in an organized and knowledgeable manner in written and verbal formats including presenting to senior executives, developing lasting relationships, delivering clear requests for information and communicating.
- General consultant support to include project management tasks, meeting facilitation, and ad hoc duties as needed.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of general experience.
- Experience coordinating communication activities across teams.
- Demonstrated analytical skills and excellent communication and presentation skills (oral and written).
- Experience facilitating meetings and capturing minutes.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to interact with senior level executives.
- Ability to diagram and analyze current (as-is) state of a business operation, and to develop a future template (to-be) business process model.
- Ability to successfully work on multiple projects concurrently (e.g. prioritize work as needed, work with multiple teams and stakeholder groups, etc.)
- Ability to work on-site daily in Washington, DC upon client request.
- Clearance: Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
Desired Skills:
- Editing, script writing, facilitation, media outreach, public relations, leadership coaching, crisis communications.
- Experience supporting VA or other federal agencies.
- Experience as a Technical Writer.
- Ability to diagram and analyze current (as-is) state of a business operation, and to develop a future template (to-be) business process model.
- Experience supporting Lean Six Sigma (LSS) projects is a plus.
