The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment for residents, staff, and visitors across all Eddy House facilities, including 888 Willow St, 874 Willow St, and 834 Willow St. This role supports daily custodial operations and helps ensure that the buildings and grounds remain in excellent condition. The ideal candidate is dependable, hardworking, and takes pride in providing a welcoming and sanitary space for all.
Essential Job Functions may include the following or other duties as assigned:
- Maintain and clean surfaces in all facilities
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, showers, and ensure supplies are well stocked
- Collect and dispose of trash and recycling
- Move furniture, equipment, and assist with room setup for meetings or special events
- Assist with outside maintenance including weeding, trash pick-up, and snow removal as needed
- Report items needing repair and notify the Facilities Director
- Participate in deep cleaning and restoration projects as needed
- Respond to after-hours emergencies if needed
- Maintain custodial supplies and notify Facilities Director when restocking is needed
- Follow established procedures for biohazard cleanup, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and disinfection methods.
- Assist the Facilities Director with repair tasks as needed.
- Assist with donation or supply pickups, as well as item re-donation or disposal
Requirements/Qualifications

Minimum:
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Valid Nevada driver’s license and reliable transportation, clean driving record
- High school diploma or equivalent, preferred
- Six (6) months of experience demonstrating reliability, responsibility, and strong work habits
- Ability to read and understand basic instructions, labels, and warning signs
- Familiarity with cleaning methods, tools, and custodial equipment
- Ability to safely climb and work from ladders
- Ability to work independently and complete tasks without immediate supervision
- Strong interpersonal skills with a courteous and professional demeanor
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, lift, bend, and carry. The employee must be able to frequently lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally work in adverse weather conditions including heat, cold, dust, or fumes.
This role may require strenuous physical work and use of equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, ladders, and outdoor tools.
