Optician job responsibilities include:
- Greet patients with a smile and peaceful presence
- Communicate with the optometrist and patient and create a customized dispensing experience from selection thru dispensing and beyond
- Educate and assist patients with frame selection and lens options
- Understand vision plan benefits and educate patients on coverage and discounts
- Measure and complete full ordering process for patients
- Coordinate job orders with labs, frame vendors and vision plans
- Dispense, adjust, repair eye wear
- Manage and display inventory by meeting with and developing relationships with all frame and product vendor
- Perform all duties within HIPAA regulations
Optician required skills & qualifications include:
- Maintain the reputation of our third generation practice by providing an exceptional and unrivaled experience for our patients
- Must be able to maintain a professional attitude and work ethic
- Skilled communicator – written and verbal and interpersonal skills to effectively communicated the benefits of all optical products
- Educator that helps patients understand all of their options by making the technical aspects simplified
- Able to multitask, manage time wisely; strong organization and meticulously detail-oriented
- Must be able to accurately measure and record all patient information and troubleshoot when necessary
- Detailed attention to prescriptions, PDs, and checking the accuracy of eyewear received from the lab, etc.
- Thoroughly and accurately answers patients' questions regarding insurance, warranty, products, materials, services, pricing, upgrades, promotions, etc.
- Team-player with a positive attitude
- Excellent phone skills with courteous and friendly tone
- Enjoys smiling and engaging with patients and co-workers
- Willing to constantly learn the industry and improve at helping patients and fellow team members
- Empathetic personality with concern for patients’ needs
- Demonstrates computer literacy

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
