What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Support Professional - Stanford Court position at Eggleston Services?

Direct Support Professional - Enjoy a rewarding and challenging position with a nonprofit organization that has been helping educate, train, and provide employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities since 1955. We are currently seeking applicants for a full time Direct Support Professional at our Stanford Court location.

Applicants must have the ability to work Monday - Friday 3:00PM -11:00 PM.


PRIMARY FUNCTION
Works with smalls groups and 1 to 1 in a positive living environment. Can provide direct care, assistance, and training to individuals with intellectual disabilities and completes required documentation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintains safe and sanitary household for individuals. This includes but is not limited to the purchase and preparation of healthful and appealing foods (with assistance from individuals in accordance with their individual treatment plans), recording meals consumed, and general maintenance of house, grounds, or program vehicles.
  • Uses positive behavioral support techniques, as needed, and responds appropriately to crisis situations,
  • Provides direct support and training to carry out individualized service plans. This includes working on such skills as toileting, bathing, dressing, socialization, and community living skills.
  • Completes daily documentation in compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements recording case notes, participation activities, community outings, self-administration of medication and charting related data.
  • Coordinates and documents / reports all necessary supportive activities related to individual services including medical, dental, financial, transportation and day activities. Assist individuals with attending appointments as needed.
  • Drives and maintains a multi-passenger van.
  • Assists in managing the house and individual’s funds including receipts and ledgers.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED with experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, preferably within a residential program. Experience using Microsoft Word. Acceptable driving record, criminal background clearance and drug screening required. Must complete all required training.
Knowledge of:
  • Regulatory requirements and corporate policies and procedures
  • Client Rights Regulations and Confidentiality
  • Professional Ethics and boundaries
  • General information regarding disabling conditions, both mental and physical
  • Techniques for positive behavioral support
Skill in:
  • Organizing, managing, and prioritizing multiple tasks
  • Conflict resolution and negotiation
  • Using a computer to perform work duties.
  • Assessment and Developing and Implementing Service Plans
  • Communicating effectively, orally and in writing
Ability to:
  • Utilize critical thinking process to facilitate decision-making.
  • Meet standards for quality and timeliness of documentation.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all employees, families, referral sources and members of the community.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision
  • Exercise good professional judgment
  • Implement training 1 to 1 and in groups.

Salary : $25,400 - $32,200
