Teacher Job Description EICK Global STEM Academy Summary:
The center is looking for two teachers. Teachers focus should be on developing a careful and creative program suitable for young children aligned to state standards and the teaching philosophy of the center. Employing a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media etc.) to teach children. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in music, fine arts, or STEM. Observing each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem. Meet the basic needs of each student.
Responsibilities:
- Build children’s esteem and comfort them in appropriate ways
- Effectively communicate with staff and students in appropriate ways
- Develop positive relationships
- Enforce routines and provide positive guidance to children
- Maintain an inclusive classroom considering the needs of children with different backgrounds and needs
- Maintain good attendance and consistency for student – They are affected when you are not there
- Maintain observation of students at all times
- Document progress and incidents in accordance with state and center guidelines
- Maintain understanding of all limitations within your classroom and adjust appropriately
- Understand and implement EICK’s learning approach as directed by administration
- Attend professional development trainings
- Be familiar with center emergency procedures and assist as needed with drills and emergencies
- Ensure equipment and the facility are clean, well maintained, disinfected, and safe at all times
- Familiarity with Ohio licensing and center requirements and willingness to stay current
- Follow all COVID-19 procedures
- Participate in all meetings, events, and extracurricular events
- Other Duties as assigned by center administrators
Qualifications and Skills:
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree or certifications in academic areas – Though not required
- Ability to foster a positive work environment
- Ability to lift 50 pounds; ability to bend and be mobile and react quickly
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of center records; must sign confidentiality agreement
- Must be willing to accept mentorship
- Must enjoy working with children and serve as a strong role model for the youth in the program
- Experience with conflict resolution and crisis management
- Willingness to embrace change
- Willingness to work/collaborate with a diverse staff
- Demonstrate integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed in accomplishing duties as assigned
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $10.00 - $17.00 per hour
