Position Overview:
We are seeking a professional and vigilant Retail Security Officer to join our dedicated team, ensuring the safety and security of our retail establishments in the Metro Atlanta area via walking and mobile patrols.
The ideal candidate will have 2 years of security experience. With a strong commitment to customer service, a keen eye for detail, and the physical stamina to engage in extensive walking throughout their shift.
As a Retail Security Officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and pleasant shopping environment for both customers and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Security Monitoring and Surveillance:
- Conduct regular foot and mobile patrols on foot to deter and detect any suspicious activities within the retail premises.
- Utilize CCTV systems and other surveillance tools to monitor various areas of the store and promptly respond to any unusual or unauthorized behavior.
- Customer Assistance and Conflict Resolution:
- Greet customers in a courteous and friendly manner, offering assistance when needed.
- Address customer concerns, questions, or conflicts, maintaining a calm and professional demeanor at all times.
- Theft Prevention and Loss Control:
- Employ effective theft prevention techniques, including maintaining awareness of potential shoplifters and monitoring high-risk areas.
- Collaborate with store management to implement loss prevention strategies and ensure compliance with store policies.
- Emergency Response:
- Respond promptly to any emergency situations, such as medical incidents, fires, or other security-related incidents.
- Follow established protocols to ensure the safety of customers, staff, and property.
- Access Control:
- Monitor entrances and exits to prevent unauthorized access and maintain a secure environment.
- Verify identification of individuals entering restricted areas as necessary.
- Report Writing and Documentation:
- Accurately document any security incidents, observations, or interventions in written reports.
- Maintain organized and comprehensive records of daily activities and incidents.
- Collaboration:
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with fellow security team members, store staff, and management to address security concerns and maintain a unified approach to security.
- Safety Inspections:
- Identify and report potential safety hazards or security vulnerabilities within the store premises.
- Contribute to the implementation of safety measures to prevent accidents and injuries.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional security-related training/certification is a plus.
- At least 1 year of proven experience in the security field, preferably in a retail setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective customer interactions.
- Exceptional observational skills and attention to detail.
- Physical ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally.
- Familiarity with CCTV systems and basic security equipment.
- Knowledge of emergency response protocols and basic first aid.
- Integrity, honesty, and a strong commitment to maintaining a safe and secure environment.
