What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physician Assistant for Taos Clinic position at El Centro Family Health?

Under the direction and supervision of the Regional Medical Manager and Medical Director for Administrative Issues and Reports to the Chief Clinical Officer for clinical issues. Participates in the provision of a community-oriented primary care program, by providing general medical care in the educative, preventive, curative, and rehabilitative areas to patients of El Centro Family Health. May provide clinical supervision, technical assistance and guidance to health professional students and other medical providers.

Conducts physical exams, diagnose, and treat illness, order an interpret test, counsel on preventive health care, write prescriptions. Has access to personal and professional data regarding individual employees and their families, personal data regarding individual patients and the families.

Education: Completion of a course of study leading to certification as a family nurse practitioner, and current certification by the New Mexico Board of Nursing; national certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner.

OR

Completion of a course of study leading to certification as a physician's assistant, and current certification by the New Mexico Board of Medical Examiners; plus, assignment of physician supervision by the New Mexico Board of Medical Examiners; national certification as a physician's assistant.


Licensure: Licensure to practice medicine in New Mexico is required. Licensure must be kept current, full, and unrestricted through participation in an appropriate course of continuing education.


Certification: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR); Basic Life Support (BLS).


Experience: Post-training experience in the medical professional field is desirable, preferably in primary health care.


Salary : $59 - $80
