JOB TITLE: ASSISTANT MANAGER

REPORTS TO: RESTAURANT MANAGER
JOB DESCRIPTION
Works hand-in-hand with the Restaurant Manager to oversee the operations of the restaurant. This position is a hands-on, motivated, and self-starter individual with a passion for excellent service and exceeding expectations, while promoting a culture where everyone feels a sense of belonging with each experience.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Provide leadership and direction to the restaurant team members.
- Work in collaboration with the kitchen team and other key positions to ensure a smooth service.
- Assist with interviewing and hiring.
- Assist with organizing front of the house team members’ schedules when necessary.
- Discipline and coach employees. Provide timely and constructive feedback.
- Communicate on a clear and effective way with all team members.
- Ensure customer satisfaction with all aspects of the restaurant and dining experience.
- Handle customer complaints, resolving issues in a diplomatic and courteous manner.
- Ensure team members are complying with health, safety, food handling, and hygiene standards. Ensure compliance with alcoholic beverage regulations.
- Report any necessary maintenance and repairs for restaurant equipment’s.
- Assist with inventory tracking.
- Maintain sales records and tracks cash receipts. Reconcile server checkouts against the POS transactions.
- Prepare and submit operations reports and other documentation requested by the main office.
- Comply with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene, and health standards. Ensures all front of the house areas are clean at all times.
- Comply with all company training standards, rules, policies, and procedures.
- Learn about all menu items and promote effective selling techniques.
- Follow all opening and closing procedures of the restaurant.
- Cover for Manager when necessary.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to navigate all parts of the restaurant quickly.
- May experience prolonged periods of standing.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times.
