The Child Abuse Treatment (AT) Program Clinician provides trauma-informed, evidence-based mental health services to child victims of abuse and their non-offending family members. Services are delivered in accordance with Cal OES AT Program requirements and best practices for treating child abuse–related trauma. The Clinician plays a critical role in promoting healing, resilience, and long-term well-being for victims through culturally responsive, client-centered care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Provide individual, family, and group counseling services to child abuse victims and non-offending caregivers.
- Conduct comprehensive psychosocial and trauma assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Deliver evidence-based, trauma-focused interventions appropriate to the developmental level and needs of the client.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation in accordance with Cal OES standards, agency policies, and applicable laws.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings with law enforcement, child welfare, medical, and other allied professionals as appropriate.
- Collaborate with Victim Advocates/Case Managers to ensure coordinated and holistic services for clients.
- Provide crisis intervention and safety planning as needed.
- Ensure services are delivered in a culturally responsive, inclusive, and trauma-informed manner.
- Maintain client confidentiality and comply with mandated reporting laws and ethical standards.
- Participate in clinical supervision, trainings, and professional development activities required by the AT Program and Cal OES.
- Other duties as required.

Education
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, or a closely related behavioral health field.
- Current California licensure or registration (e.g., LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, or Associate under supervision).
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience providing mental health services, preferably with children and families affected by trauma or abuse.
- Knowledge of child abuse dynamics, trauma-informed care, and evidence-based treatment models.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within a child advocacy center or multidisciplinary team setting.
- Training in trauma-focused evidence-based practices (e.g., TF-CBT or similar).
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities relevant to the community served.
Other Skills/Abilities
- Excellent organizational skills and able to manage several projects/tasks at the same time;
- Excellent communication and writing skills;
- Experience with and/or understanding of crisis intervention and vicarious trauma;
- Good public speaking skills for program presentations to funders, providers, and community groups;
- Understanding of, and commitment to, social justice, and the agency’s mission and organizational values;
- Ability to work flexible hours;
- Second language strongly encouraged, Spanish preferred;
- Proficiency with social media platforms, specifically Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube, and TikTok;
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, Premiere, and After Effects;
- Excellent written communication skills;
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively;
- Strong initiative and ability to suggest and implement new social media strategies;

Computer Skills

Driving
Driving is an essential function of this position. All candidates must have:
- Reliable transportation
- A valid driver's license
- Proof of insurance and ownership for personal vehicles used during work duties

Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to work flexible hours and under stress. Individual should be available via cell phone at all times. Requires annual tuberculosis screening.
