The Electrical Technician II researches, plans, designs, develops, analyzes and tests a variety of electronic equipment and systems, including displays, sensors, processors, interface units and other electronic devices;
circuitry components; analog and digital computers; and control and test equipment.
Responsibilities and Tasks (listed in bullet format) in order of priority to be successful
- Perform design activities as assigned by supervisor
- Design and assembly of test equipment and circuits including board and cable assembly
- Produce preliminary reports and analysis
- Produce preliminary schematics
- Run validation testing
- Optimization of manufacturing processes,
- Implementation of cost reduction opportunities (yield and productivity improvements, waste elimination),
- Training production employees to improve work processes and product quality,
- Work to minimize or eliminate safety, quality, delivery, inventory and production issues.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Associate degree in an Engineering field (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, etc.) or over 5 years of related work experience
- 2 years of technical experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with review/inspection of mechanical assemblies, optics and/or soldering
- PC proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required
- Experience training others
- Ability to obtain Security Clearance
- Must be able to comply with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations, Company Policies and Procedures
- A successful candidate will have proficiency in the use of hand and machine tools, precision gauges, test instruments, and process equipment.
- Preferred:
- Prior experience with one or more of the following: CRTs & optics, HUDs, RF, Radar, Power supply design, firmware, test software, JTAG, ICT, ESS
- J-STD soldering experience
- Must have the ability to work effectively within a team
- Good interpersonal and organizational skills are required
- Strong analytical abilities and trouble-shooting techniques
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Most locations offer a 9/80 schedule providing every other Friday off
