For over 51 years, Elder Care Services has been fulfilling our mission to improve the quality of life for seniors and their caregivers in the Big Bend. Elder Care Services currently serves as the Lead Non-Profit Agency for in-home services in Leon, Gadsden, and Wakulla Counties.
Our comprehensive services provide community based, compassionate care for a broad spectrum of seniors. For active seniors, we provide an avenue to stay engaged in the community through volunteering placement. For families beginning the aging process, we are an advocate and trusted resource. For frail and homebound seniors, we continue to provide a variety of services that promote independence and safety while individuals age in place.
We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Specialist to join our fiscal team on a part time basis. As our Accounting Specialist, you will serve as a crucial part of our fiscal team and they key contact for Accounts Receivable.
We will provide an hourly rate of $16-18 per hour. We are specifically looking for a motivated individual with strong attention to detail who keeps an organized workspace.
Work schedule will be Monday-Friday with total of up to 29 hours per week, averaging around 20. We are willing to work with school schedules to the extent possible.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
- High school diploma with post high school training or college courses in accounting or business administration. Associates or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Excellent computer skills with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel; MIP accounting software knowledge preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience with Accounts Receivable/Billing/Journal Entries preferred.
- Good organization, documentation, and communication skills; detail oriented.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the accounting cycle preferred.
- Full wrist dexterity at a repetitive motion.
- Ability to stoop, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds.
Role and Responsibilities
- Process and maintain records used for client and kitchen meal customers billing.
- Process payments made against receivables, cash donations and grant revenues into MIP accounting system and monthly review of activity to ensure accurate posting.
- Process monthly Journal Vouchers for recording revenue and in kind donations/activities for agency departments.
- Process, reconcile, file and report on accounts receivable or other assigned areas of responsibility.
- Run A/R aging reports for department staff each month. Process write-offs as approved.
- Maintain fiscal files including deposits, AR billing, JV’s.
- Assist the with the independent audit as requested.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliation and other account reconciliations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the CFO, Assistant Finance Director, Senior Accountant and/or the President/CEO.
- Successful completion of a Level II criminal history check, NSOPW registry search, and pre-employment drug screening
