What are the responsibilities and job description for the Metallurgy Technician position at Element Materials Technology?
Overview
Element has an opportunity for a Metallurgy Technician at our Wixom, MI lab. Primary responsibility is to perform routine metallographic testing.
Responsibilities
- Perform evaluations of printed circuit boards (PCB) which includes visual inspections, x-ray analysis and cross section evaluation.
- May also included metallographic preparation and testing of metals such as steel, aluminum and copper
- Coordinate with project managers and other technicians in the team to carry out work in a timely fashion to ensure customer needs are met
- Ensure work complies with ISO 17025 requirements
Skills / Qualifications
- Degree/Diploma in Metallurgy or related discipline desired, not required
- 2-4 years of experience working in a laboratory in the field of metallurgy testing desired, not required
- IPC-A-610 Certified desired, not required
- Strong organizational skills and attention to details required
- Task oriented and self-motivated team player
