Job Summary:

The QMS Lead position supports all production areas and other departments in their effort to produce items that meet our highest quality standards. The QMS Lead is responsible for the organization of all documents involving audits, regulatory compliance, non-conformances and internal quality management systems.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the release to ship process. Ensure quality documentation is maintained and reviewed for discrepancies prior to authorizing finished good releases.
  • Perform occasional internal gap analysis' based off regulatory requirements to stay current in our organization. Update and create documentation as needed based off gap analysis.
  • Responsible for the occasional creation and updating of Quality Directives, SOPs, Job Aides, Training Documents and forms.
  • Maintain and adhere to approval process for controlled documents
  • Work cross functionally for input and approval of all controlled documents
  • Maintains and owns environmental monitoring program in partnership with Quality Manager
  • Conducts investigations in partnership with the Quality Manager on non-conformance reports including but not limited to customer complaints, internal reworks, CAPAs and deviations. Investigations include reviewing documentation and pulling retain samples if necessary.
  • Perform periodic review of Production Quality Lead inspection results to ensure accuracy, adherence to required inspection frequencies, and action in the event of out-of-specification results when Packing Technicians need assistance in the lab or on the production floor
  • Maintain communication with leads and management on problems and/or potential issues affecting production.
  • Follows Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and Good Documentation Practices(GDP).
  • Works with integrity to product a high-quality product according to the job manufacturing packet and product specifications.

  • Able to communicate with all levels of employees.
  • See that lean manufacturing practices are being followed.
  • Basic Math Skills.

Education/Experience:

  • Quality Control Experience in personal care or related industry preferred.
  • Experience working in a production environment preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly required to stand
  • Frequently required to walk
  • Regularly use hands and fingers to handle or feel
  • Regularly reach with hands and arms
  • Occasionally/frequently required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, and ability to determine small differences in color. Must be able to accurately see all colors.

Work Environment:

  • Regularly required to work in areas where chemical materials are encountered
  • Regularly required to work in manufacturing areas with moving machinery
  • Regularly required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment
  • May involve exposure to shop environment including variable noise levels
  • Must customarily have a high consciousness for personnel and equipment safety

In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, we are disclosing the compensation range for roles that will be, or could be, performed in Colorado. Compensation for similar positions located outside of Colorado may differ.

If performed in Colorado, the base pay for this position is $25.00 per hour. This hourly pay may vary based on relevant factors including but not limited to experience, education, performance, scope of responsibilities, location and other considerations permitted by law.
