Eliada Homes, Inc. is seeking Medication Technicians whose employment will directly impact the lives and needs of our residential clients, their families, and our community. Our unique campus provides our youth, and the Asheville community, with equine therapy, campus farm programs, foster care services, child development services, day treatment services, and housing services. Our staff are mission centered in helping children succeed.

Position Summary :

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Nursing, Medication Technicians are responsible for accurately and safely preparing, administering, and documenting the medications that are commonly used in the facility and that may be ordered for student use.

Department : Nursing

Status : Full Time, Part Time, PRN

Requirements :

Ensure no medication is administered without an order from a licensed provider.
Verify the 5 rights of medication administration;

Right Person, Right Medication, Right Dose, Right Time, Right Route

Follow policies and procedures related medication administration, ordering, evaluation, and education within knowledge base.

Accurately document any occasion a medication is not administered. This also includes reasons for refusals.

Report any medication refusals or errors to the DON and / or provider.

Complete any medication documentation and charting as directed by the DON or Nurse on Call.

Verify all controlled drug records are accurate and follow policies and procedures for wasted medications.

Report and notify to the DON or Nurse on Call any controlled drug discrepancies.

Review orders for accuracy in the MAR and weekly medication rolls.

Document completed task in the EHR, MAR, Nightly Email, and Daily Nursing Report.

Complete all intake and discharge paperwork, check list, and documentation.

Manage assigned task within scheduled shift.

Education / Certification

Med Tech / CMA / RMA : High School Diploma and certification as Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or Medical Technician / Medication Aide.

Have current and active CPR certification.

Effective verbal and communication skills.

Ability to utilize computer programs in Microsoft Office, EHR, MARs, navigate files, and other 3rd party websites, software, and technology.
