Dance Teacher/Assistant Dance Teacher

Position Summary:

We are seeking passionate, reliable, and enthusiastic experienced Dance Teacher/Assistant Dance Teacher to join our team. This position would be both a teacher/assistant dance teacher. The ideal candidates will be positive role models who love working with children, have strong communication skills, and are committed to fostering a fun, disciplined, and supportive dance environment. Candidates should be confident in teaching or assisting in a variety of styles and ages, and thrive in a team-oriented studio culture.

Key Responsibilities:

Dance Teacher:

• Plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate dance classes in assigned genres (e.g., ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, lyrical, ACRO, etc.)
• Teach proper technique, terminology, and performance skills in a structured and positive manner
• Choreograph routines for recitals, performances, and/or competitions
• Maintain a safe, organized, and inclusive classroom environment
• Communicate regularly with parents, students, and studio staff
• Serve as a mentor and role model to students
• Attend staff meetings, performances, and studio events as required

Assistant Dance Teacher:

• Support the lead teacher in managing class behavior and flow
• Provide individual attention to dancers and help with corrections
• Set up and put away props, music, and equipment
• Demonstrate steps and assist with choreography as needed
• Help with costume coordination, show prep, and student check-in/out
• Model enthusiasm, preparedness, and professionalism at all times

Requirements:

Dance Teacher:

• Prior teaching experience in a studio or school setting preferred
• Strong technical background in one or more dance styles
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills
• Ability to choreograph and adapt routines for various age levels
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) is a plus (all position required to take CPR)

Assistant Dance Teacher:

• Previous dance experience required, prior assistant teaching experience a plus
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and love for working with children
• Must be dependable, punctual, and team-oriented
• Willingness to learn from senior instructors and take direction

Compensation based on experience and role:

• Dance Teacher: $19.00-$40. 00
• Assistant Dance Teacher: $17.00-$18.00

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 4 per week
