Inside Shipping Team Member
9:30am-6pm Shift (Monday-Friday)
The purpose of this role it to provide excellent communication and paperwork between Elk Creek and all inbound and outbound trucking companies in order to ship and receive inventory accurately in a highly time-sensitive manner. The accuracy in this role is imperative as it affects inventory control as well as the costs and profitability of the company.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (approx. time spent annually)
- Greet truck drivers as they arrive, process paperwork quickly and accurately, and confirm loads are correct (20%)
- Provide outside shipping team and Pullers with correct information and paperwork to properly load trucks (20%)
- Create BOLs when trucks are finished loading, ensuring that quantities, packages, and wraps/tarps are correct (20%)
- Communicate with outside shipping team and Pullers to ensure that trucks are handled in a timely manner (15%)
- Document truck information and status in outbound log (10%)
- Review current dispatches and prepare for current day’s shipments (5%)
- Validate trucker-provided numbers against system and any scheduled dispatches (5%)
- Scan and verify completed orders from Production Manager (5%)
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Communicate with trucking companies as needed
- Create physical tags for the accurate tagging and tracking of inventory as needed
- Research and correct any missing or incorrect inventory information as needed
- Assist in sort chain reports as necessary
- Any other duties assigned by Leader
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate in English
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment, as well as independently
- Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines
- Strong organizational skills
- High attention to detail while multi-tasking
- General knowledge of basic math skills
- General understanding of inventory functions
- Strong computer and technical abilities
- Experience in lumber industry or manufacturing preferred
- Experience with tracking and managing inventory preferred
