What are the responsibilities and job description for the Utility II Operator - EC position at Ellwood Group Inc?

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - All Roles
- Observes all Safety rules and regulations and meets all safety program requirements.
- Maintains work area in a clean, orderly and safe condition.
- Works under the direction of ECFG management; also utilizes Syteline and other reports for work instructions.
- Safely loads and unloads: Machine tools, furnaces, quench tables, transfer cars, and trucks with the aid of an overhead crane. Utilizes a variety of below hook lifting devices, as appropriate for the part/task.
- Verifies, and maintains identification on all material he/she handles, by stamping or marking with necessary numbers.
- Maintains necessary, tooling, etc, for the work center they are assigned to.
- Enters all required data into Syteline, including as-received sizes, final sizes, weights, etc.
- Completes all required paperwork.
- Documents deviations and notifies a Supervisor.
- Enters accurate delay reason codes and production and delay times.
- Adheres to all pertinent Detailed Instructions.
- Perform work in accordance with ECFG’s ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
- At times the employee may be required to perform testing in accordance with ISO 17025, NADCAP or other Standards. During testing, the employee is considered to be a part of Quality and shall not be pressured by outside influences.
HEAT TREAT FUNCTIONS
- Receive instructions from Production Manager, Operational leader or HT Operator Crewleader.
- Assist in loading and unloading furnaces; hooking and unhooking, positioning, etc., as required.
- Operate and adjust furnaces as required. Assist in recording heat and order numbers.
- Must be able to fill in the cab crane or radio-controlled crane as required.
- Perform yard duties, such as: dumping scale/scrap, arranging press tools, transporting material in, out, and around shop.
- Assist Heat Treat Operator as required.
MACHINE SHOP / PEELER FUNCTIONS
- General material handling duties for the Peeler.
- Trained to fill in as a Machine Operator I and Layout operator.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE AND/OR TRAINING
- High school or GED required
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS
- If driving is required in order to complete the essential functions of this position, a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license is required.
- Ability to pass required crane eye test.
