As a Direct Support Mentor, you will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to support Women ages 18-28 in their journey towards improved mental health and well-being. As a valued member of our team, you’ll play a crucial role in helping residents navigate their daily lives and achieve greater independence. You’ll assist with essential tasks like personal care, meal preparation, and medication management, ensuring our residents feel supported and empowered. In addition, you’ll provide transportation to various activities and appointments, helping residents stay connected to the community and engaged in their treatment journey. Your compassionate care and dedication will make a meaningful difference in their lives, fostering a positive and nurturing environment where recovery can thrive.
Fulshear is focused on creating healthy, influential and strong women who know how to take care of themselves, are a force for good in their own lives and the lives of others and have a positive influence over others. To accomplish this, we utilize different types of therapy, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, equine-assisted therapy, family and individual therapy, and more. Using attachment and trauma focused modalities, family systems work, life skills, and identity development; we encourage our young adults to successfully live beyond trauma and attachment wounds. Our location serves women 18 to 28 in person at our program-leased apartments in Stafford, Texas. Designed specifically for Fulshear, these apartments offer a serene and comfortable space just minutes from Houston.

- Client Engagement and Support: Build meaningful, supportive relationships with clients, maintaining professional boundaries while assisting with their daily needs and activities.
- Effective Treatment Application: Review and apply treatment team strategies daily to drive client progress and ensure effective intervention.
- Crisis Management Expertise: Utilize advanced de-escalation techniques and crisis management training to support clients, ensuring a calm and safe environment.
- Attachment-Based Care: Embrace a caregiver role with empathy and intentionality, fostering attuned relationships and providing constructive feedback to support client growth.
- Campus Cleanliness and Maintenance: Contribute to a clean and welcoming environment by managing campus upkeep, supporting clients with chores, and addressing maintenance issues promptly.
- Accurate Documentation: Maintain thorough and precise documentation of client interactions and staff interventions to ensure consistent and effective care.
- Professional Standards and Compliance: Uphold company values, communicate effectively, adhere to policies, and maintain punctuality while managing time off and avoiding unauthorized overtime.
What do you bring to this position?
- Age: 21 years of age or older
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent G.E.D required. Associates or bachelor's in human services, psychology, criminal justice, or related field is preferred.
- Skills: Quick decision-making skills and a growth mindset with a focus on Embarks core values.
- Experience: Min of 1 year of experience working with adolescent populations is preferred
- Certifications: CPR and First Aid certification preferred, will provide training
- Background Checks: Must pass pre-employment drug screen and federal and state background check in concordance with Texas state laws.
