What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front Desk position at Embe?
SUMMARY: The individual in this position is primarily responsible for the delivery of excellent customer service to all members, guests, and program participants of EmBe of Sioux Falls. Front desk receptionist is responsible for EmBe's childcare rooms from 10 am- 2pm as directed. Ensure EmBe brand, mission, vision, and values are reflected in all interactions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Responsible for coordinating information, communications, and administrative procedures for the EmBe front desk.
- Serves as administrative assistant to program directors by supervising registrations and payments.
- Duties include daily cash receipt procedures, record keeping, data base maintenance, and general front-of-house communications.
Front Desk Coordinator
- Answer and route incoming telephone calls
- Monitor all public entering the building
- Learn and explain EmBe programs, policies, and procedures
- Register customers and clients for programs according to procedure
- Create and maintain all front desk forms and supplies
- Receive customer/client comments and direct them to the appropriate staff person.
- Filing
- Keep front desk organized
- Tour new clients if directors are unavailable.
Membership
- Keep accurate membership files
- Process memberships according to procedure
Cross Departmental Work
- Ability to work with youth and adult volunteers and staff
- Assumes other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have a willingness and desire to work with children and adults of all ages and backgrounds, and have a commitment to the values of the EmBe mission statement.
- Previous customer service experience preferred. Person must be assertive, and demonstrate energetic personality.
- Self-motivated team player, with ability to effectively work under stress of multi-tasking during busy work times.
- Model excellent oral and written communications, teamwork skills, and the EmBe Mission through cross-departmental work.
- Proven ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks with proficiency with Microsoft Office including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Publisher, and Microsoft Access.
- Good writing skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Desire to work in the non-profit arena.
- Support all company policies, decisions, direction, and purpose.
