The Opportunity:
Senior Director will build and maintain relationships with the community and local government to maximize opportunities for the university in corporate, government and community settings. This person will be an active, embedded and informed member of the university and the local community. The Senior Director possesses knowledge of city, county and state governments and will build and strengthen relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to advance the mission of the university and to ensure strong strategic partnerships. The Senior Director serves as a subject matter expert in the community on aviation and airport operations. This person is a subject matter expert on government legislative and budgetary processes and can represent the university when appropriate in these areas with government officials.
Government Relations - This person assumes the role of an advocate and resource to public, private, and community partners of the university. Additionally, this person will coordinate and liaise with government entities in support of university legislative initiatives with outside government relations teams and government relations under the direction of the Executive Director of Corporate Relations, and in consultation with the Chief Operating Officer and the Chancellor of the Prescott Campus. This person will serve as the Prescott Campus point of contact for local, state and federal elected officials and university hired advocates.
Community Relations - In this role, the senior director will support the campus and university goals to build and maintain positive relationships to promote and foster collaborative partnerships that advance the mission of the organization. This person will be a liaison to outside organizations and community leaders under the direction of the Executive Director of Corporate Relations and in support of the community relations efforts of the Chancellor of the Prescott Campus. This person will be embedded in the community, serving as a representative for the university at community meetings and forum.
This person will be a trusted resource and supervised directly by the Executive Director of Corporate Relations and will also serve as a resource to support the efforts of the Chief Operating Officer and Chancellor of the Prescott Campus and in the surrounding community. The incumbent will be responsible for executing a vision and achieving positive outcomes for various special projects as needed. The person will help ensure information is communicated to the CRM specialist for record keeping and will assist in the planning and execution of strategic visits.

Required Education:
Master's degree. Area of concentration - Aviation, Policy, Government Administration, Business
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Experience with government legislation and budgets required
- Experience with airport operations preferred
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing with senior government officials and community leaders
- Experience in planning and project management preferred
