Job Summary
Electrical design responsibilities for our Design/Build construction projects. This position will also coordinate with in-house resources touching controls, automation, and low voltage systems for a complete project solution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Designs electrical systems, based on established standards for products, components, and applications.
- Provides engineering information by answering questions and requests from the construction team and offers support throughout the construction process.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Assists Project Managers and monitors subcontractors, as needed.
- Assists change order preparations, plan checking, document control, quality control and safety monitoring.
- Assist with department representatives, architects, engineers and consultants to establish project requirements, specifications and schedules. Assist with the development and approval of architectural and engineering construction drawings
- Assist with monitoring and maintaining construction project schedule
- Assist with preparation of project documentation
- Assist with inspection of projects to ensure conformance with local, state and federal construction codes and in accordance with contract design specifications
- Assist with project reporting
- Assist in project estimating and financial review of job cost reports.
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent education and experience
- Experience working for a contractor on electrical systems design or in the field is a plus.
- Ability to work both independently or in a team environment
- Small amount of travel is expected with this position, short duration determined as required for project design and execution
- Computer literate with MS Office product offerings including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Navisworks and/or Revit is a plus
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, in both written and oral work
