Job Title: Project Manager
Department: Automation
Reports to: Operations Manager
General purpose of job:
Manage the automation portion of all assigned projects for Emcor and outside customers so they are delivered on time, within budget, while maintaining quality standards.
Primary duties:
- Provide guidance to ensure project milestones are met according to schedule.
- Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and mitigating risks and issues.
- Writing requests for information, change requests, etc. Providing solutions when possible.
- Provide closeout documentation at project completion.
Administrative duties:
- Maintain excellent communication between the automation department and its customers.
- Verbally communicate as much as possible.
- Follow up important verbal communication with email for record.
- Fully understand the scope of the project.
- Coordinate schedule with team members
- Continue to monitor project to ensure adherence to design, scope, specifications, plans.
- Evaluate estimate with job cost report throughout project.
- Maintain assigned company vehicle
- Assist manager with staffing and training needs
Required skills:
- Even temperament and good judgement
- Command of the technical language and processes involved with automation and mechanical systems
- Good organizational and planning and planning skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Good critical thinking skills (striving for win-win)
- Understands and executes “completion”
- Fosters relationships with customers and team members
