Job Summary
We have an opening for an Accounts Payable Clerk. Must be a team player who is responsible for completing payments by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices on a daily basis. General staff accounting duties according to established procedures or as directed by our accounting manager. This is an entry/mid-level position within our accounting department. Applicants must have accounting experience and complete the assessment test when applying.
Responsibilities
- Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
- Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports; recording entries.
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with new and existing vendors
- Pays vendors by monitoring discount opportunities; preparing checks; resolving purchase order, invoice, or payment discrepancies. Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.
- Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
- Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
- Managing accounts payable using accounting software and other programs
- Handling accounts payable for separate entities and vendors
- Ensuring bills is paid in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to departmental procedures
- Processing due invoices for payments
- Processing transactions and performing accounting duties such as account maintenance, recording entries and reconciling books of accounts
- Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
Skills/Qualifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent communicative and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, QuickBooks or related software
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with customers.
- Highly motivated with great organizational, attention to detail and customer service skills
- Must be willing to help where needed
- Bi-lingual preferred
Education/ Experience:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
- Associate’s degree in Accounting (preferred)
- At least one-year in Accounts Payable (Required)
