We are a fast-paced independent Ophthalmology practice with fast-growing Optical on the site. We are excited to add a new Optician to our team.

General Accountabilities
- Perform vision acuity test, visual field, and ophthalmic diagnostic testing: autorefraction, OCT, and fundus photo.
- Measure customer for size of eyeglasses and coordinate frames with facial and eye measurements and optical prescription.
- May shape or reshape frames.
- Prepare work orders and instructions for grinding lenses and fabricating eyeglasses.
- Heat, shape, or bend plastic or metal frames to adjust eyeglasses to fit clients using pliers.
- Assist clients in selecting frames according to style and color and ensure that frames are coordinated with facial and eye measurements and optical prescriptions.
- Maintain records of customer prescriptions, work orders, and payments.

- Experience with VSP, Eye Med and other vision plans must
Job Qualifications
- Education: Associates Degree preferred, but vocational school is acceptable
- Experience: Appropriate certifications and/ or licensures with 1-2 years of on-the-job training or Apprenticeship
Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient computer skills
- Excellent mathematical knowledge allow to monitor sale
- Ability to sell and satisfy customer's needs
- Knowledge of checking Vision plan eligibility and billing VSP, Eye Med, and others vision plans
SALARY : $18.00 to $25.00 per hour.
