Suncoast Hospice, a member of Empath Health is currently seeking a (PRN) Hospice Care Center Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team.
Shift: 7:45pm to 8:15am, 4 shift minimum a month
Under physician's orders, the Care Center Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for identifying and coordinating patient/family needs and for providing preventive and supportive care to the terminally ill patient/family unit. The Care Center RN utilizes assessment, intervention and teaching skills to maximize patient comfort and to enhance the quality of life to the patient/family unit. The Care Center RN provides oversight and supervision of the LPN and/or aide for the delivery of patient care in the GIP environment. The RN reports to Patient/Family Care Coordinator/Care Center Manager.
Position Requirements
Education and/or Experience: Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; Minimum of or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Licensure:

Position Requirements
- Valid Florida license as a Registered Nurse
- Valid Florida State Driver’s License
- Continuing Education: As required for licensure.
- Certifications: Valid CPR certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
- Minimum of 1 year of current active nursing experience; with experience in caring for terminally ill patients or those with life threatening illnesses preferred; prefer one (1) year experience in an acute or post acute care setting.
- Must have reliable transportation which will enable them to perform tasks and responsibilities in a timely and appropriate fashion. Must provide proof of valid automobile insurance, a copy of which will be placed in the employee’s HR file. Required to work in other Care Centers based on business needs.
