At two years old, Empire Fire Protection is an up-and-coming provider of fire protection solutions, committed to delivering high-quality services in the design, installation, inspection, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems. Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Fire Sprinkler Systems Estimator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately estimating costs for fire sprinkler system projects, ensuring that all designs meet code requirements and client specifications. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the fire protection industry, strong analytical skills, and a deep understanding of fire sprinkler systems and relevant codes and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Estimate Preparation: Prepare detailed cost estimates for fire sprinkler system projects, including material, labor, permitting, and equipment costs, based on project drawings, specifications, and scope of work.
- Project Analysis: Review and analyze project plans, blueprints, and specifications to determine the necessary scope, materials, and labor requirements.
- Code Compliance: Ensure all estimates comply with NFPA codes, local building codes, and other relevant regulations.
- Vendor and Supplier Coordination: Obtain quotes from suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring competitive pricing and availability of materials.
- Client Interaction: Communicate effectively with clients, architects, engineers, and project managers to clarify project requirements and expectations.
- Bid Proposal Development: Prepare and submit bid proposals, including detailed breakdowns of costs and timelines.
- Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and challenges in project execution and provide recommendations for mitigation.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the design and project management teams to ensure accurate and timely delivery of estimates.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, new products, and best practices in fire sprinkler system estimation and installation.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in fire sprinkler system estimation, with a proven track record of successful project bids.
- Education: First hand experience and real world knowledge is preferred over a degree.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in fire protection design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Autosprink, HydraCad, etc.), estimation software, and Microsoft Office Suite. AutoSprink is our preferred design software.
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of NFPA 13, 14, 20, 24, 25, IFC, IBC and other relevant fire protection codes and standards. A strong understanding of storage protection and high challenge areas is preferred.
- Analytical Skills: Strong mathematical and analytical skills with the ability to perform complex calculations and cost analysis.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and thoroughness.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions.
- Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and independently as needed.
- Certifications: NICET Level III certification in Water-Based System Layout or Fire Protection Engineering Technology is required.
