Job Summary:
We are hiring experienced Employment Counsel – Defense attorneys to join a fully remote team of a leading national law firm focused exclusively on management-side labor and employment law. This position is ideal for attorneys who enjoy litigation and counseling but are looking for flexible, remote work without the burden of business development or in-person court appearances.
You will work on administrative agency responses, demand letter reviews, and employment litigation matters—many of which are covered under Employment Practices Liability Insurance (EPLI)—across multiple jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage employment litigation matters and administrative agency responses (EEOC, DFEH, etc.)
- Draft legal documents, including position statements, pleadings, discovery, and settlement agreements
- Advise clients on labor and employment compliance and risk mitigation
- Work collaboratively with senior partners and legal teams
- Handle matters in federal and state courts without the requirement for depositions or court appearances
Qualifications (Required):
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
- Minimum 5 years of experience in employment litigation or labor law
- Experience with administrative agency matters and civil litigation
- Licensed and in good standing in at least one U.S. state bar
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience at a law firm (employment defense or litigation)
- Familiarity with Employment Practices Liability Insurance (EPLI) matters
- California bar admission is a strong plus
