Job Description
SGM is seeking a full-time Civil/Site Development Engineer I for our Grand Junction and Durango offices. This position is entry-level and requires a degree in civil engineering. An Engineer I focuses on learning and task-level project work execution under the close supervision of more senior professionals.
The ideal candidate has a strong desire to live, work and play in Western Colorado, and will help forward SGM's mission to make its clients successful by delivering practical, innovative solutions. Duties/Responsibilities:
- May coordinate support staff (admin, CAD, survey, interns) with input from Project Manager.
- Minimal project proposal development and scoping/budgeting responsibilities.
- Execute well-defined technical and engineering tasks.
- Contributes to the development of project deliverables.
- Performs field work and CAD drafting, sometimes in significant amounts.
- Field activities, including full-time construction inspections and part-time inspections.
- Limited client-staff interactions, typically accompanied by senior staff at crucial project meetings.
- Actively participate in team endeavors and SGM initiatives and committees as requested.
- Proactively communicate with supervisor on professional development desires & needs.
- Help secure repeat clients through excellent project performance.
- Help secure new business by recognizing and communicating with supervisor about business opportunities through clients, projects, etc.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
