Insurance Manager

Essential Functions & Responsibilities: 20% Execute the insurance group's business plan. Provide input to the budgeting and strategic planning process. Monitor and report on the insurance group's performance. Track and analyze financial, quality, and marketing data.  15% Ensure regulatory compliance of the insurance program. Lead product and vendor reviews and due diligence exercises. Coordinate insurance company underwriting audits. Participate in industry related trade associations and networks.  15% Review client accounts to ensure appropriateness of strategies, products and service provided to our insureds. Act as the designated compliance officer for the company's HITECH/HIPAA and other company policies as assigned. Maintain industry knowledge; identify trends and emerging technologies, products, and strategies.  10% Cause account documentation to be prepared and maintained to the standards required by Empower Associated Services, our insurance providers, regulators, and other entities with jurisdiction over EIS. Monitor and improve workflow, procedures, and other resources in order to optimize the effectiveness of the insurance group.  10% Maintain and improve the organization's skills, credentials, licenses, and product knowledge required to meet the needs of the business. Train and mentor assigned staff. Conduct timely and meaningful performance reviews.  10% Identify staffing needs. Train, mentor, and recruit to meet the needs of the business. Hire, fire, train, mentor, recruit, counsel, discipline and schedule direct reports. Provide general management and supervision of the company's staff and facilities as required.  10% Administer insurance licensing, insurance company appointments, CPE, and career development of EIS staff. Maintain the company's corporate insurance licenses.  5% Communicate and collaborate with the leadership of other business units to achieve efficiencies and consistency.  5% Develop and participate in EIS and EFCU marketing, advertising, and referral campaigns and projects. Develop prospects from referral leads, personal contacts, current clients and other sources. Prepare and deliver presentations, seminars, and workshops.  Performance Measurements: See Dayforce for Performance Goals  Knowledge and Skills: Experience: Five years to eight years of similar or related experience.  Education: Degree in Business Administration, Management, Sales, Insurance, or a related field.  Interpersonal Skills: Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is of a personal or sensitive nature. Motivating, influencing, and/or training others is key at this level. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.  Other Skills: Must be comfortable with using multiple computer and web-based systems.   Professional Licensing in two or more of the following areas required: Personal Lines Property & Casualty Insurance; Commercial Lines Property & Casualty; New York State Life, Accident, Health Insurance; FINRA Series 6 or 7.   Demonstrated aptitude for figures and calculations, strict attention to detail, high level of organization, ability to work pleasantly and effectively with others in a busy, sometimes stressful environment, and the ability to sell and persuade are required.  Physical Requirements: PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
