What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parent Facilitator position at EMPOWERING YOUTH INC.?
The Parent Facilitator assist EYI staff with outreach and recruitment for program participation; and assists with facilitating individual and family at the school in homes and at the EYI office to enhance parental involvement in the students coordination of care and program resources are available to families.
Responsibilities:
1. Ensures parents have access to EYI services and/or community partners.
2. Assist with the coordination and planning, presenting, and facilitating counseling services.
3. Responsible for recruitment, retention of participants are maintained in accordance with curriculum fidelity/requirements.
4. Assist individuals and families by providing resources and referral information for community agencies and conduct follow-up on referrals.
5. Assist with developing and maintaining collaborative working arrangements community based agencies and community residents.
6. Assist in maintaining client records required for monthly statistical reports and implementing designated system to collect, report, and analyze service and productivity data.
7. Assist in entering client information and client service participation and attendance into the agency's database and/or other reporting/tracking system as required by agency need.
8. Assist in securing program presentation sites and selecting materials for use in the various program specific counseling and education services.
9. Assist in creating collaborations with community partners.
10. Attend agency, program and staff/team meetings, peer consultations, and other meetings as assigned.
11. Maintain good relationships with current and potential clients, community and co-workers), focusing on providing excellent and culturally sensitive customer service and presenting a positive image of the agency in all community and stakeholder interactions.
12. Maintain a working environment which encourages mutual respect, promotes respectful and congenial relationships between employees.
13. Perform other duties as assigned, including presentations to community groups and organizations, in accordance with EYI’s mission and vision.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s or Associate's degree in education, health, social work, or other related human service field plus four (2) years of related work experience with counseling or outreach community programs is desirable, case management or social service delivery.
2. Experience in understanding cultural differences and is sensitive to the implications of culture for service delivery.
