What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sample Receiving Data Entry Clerk I position at EMSL Analytical?
EMSL is seeking a Sample Receiving Data Entry Clerk I in Long Island City, NY . This is an administrative support position for the laboratory manager and the analysts. It will oversee the shipping, receiving, distributing, and logging in of samples.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
Receive environmental samples and enter Chain of Custody into LIMS system
Review paperwork for all incoming samples to ensure completeness and correctness
Inspect samples to ensure sample integrity is retained and that the packaging is not compromised
Make sure all samples are placed in the proper storage area to await analysis
Answer high volume phone calls and interface with clients
Assist with customer service client questions via phone and e-mail
Act as a liaison between clients and laboratory staff
Clerical duties such as answering phones, filing, faxing, assisting clients, scanning, and mailing as necessary
May require transferring and / or transporting samples between between Manhattan service center and Long Island City lab
Requirements :
High School Degree or equivalent
Excellent Customer Service Skills- Customer Service Experience is a plus
Excellent computer skills
Must be proficient in MS Office especially Excel and typing
Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clientele
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task
Team player
Ability to prioritize work assignments
Attention to detail and organized
Must be able to lift min 35lbs
Must be able to stand and sit for various lengths of time
Available Shift :
Monday to Friday 2 : 00 p.m. to 10 : 30 p.m.
Training schedule to start will be Monday to Friday 10 : 00 a.m. to 6 : 30 p.m.
