Summary
We are a large, Santa Cruz County-based non-profit with 380 employees and a friendly & collaborative human resources team in search of our next Benefits and Leave Administrator. You will have tremendous support as you settle into this important role. We offer a flexible, hybrid work schedule, with administrative offices located in Santa Cruz and Watsonville.
Responsibilities
- Primary contact for employees, benefit providers and brokers
- Monthly benefits billing allocation and processing
- On-going employee benefits education and assistance
- Benefit plan set-up and management of deductions and qualifying events
- Responsible for the annual open enrollment
- Section 125 (Flexible Spending Acct) and 403b Retirement Plan annual discrimination testing, audit, employee enrollment and posting of contributions
- Annual ACA administration and filing
- Manage and track agency-wide Leave of Absence requests
- Subject matter expert on variety of topics such as alternative work schedules, ADA accommodations, FMLA/CFRA, Support Animals, etc.
- Oversee and conduct ADA process, acting as mediator between employee and management
- Annual EEO reporting
- Support and advise management and employees on personnel matters
- Seek and maintain knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensure agency’s compliance
- Ad Hoc reporting
- HRIS data audits and clean up
Qualifications
Required
- 2 years of benefits administration experience
- Strong Excel skills (formulas, report creation, sort)
- Strong analytical skills (able to detect errors, trends)
- Excellent customer service skills (responsive, detailed, collaborative)
- Compassionate and empathetic
- Systems savvy (knows how to navigate various systems with ease and comfort)
Preferred
- 2 years of human resources generalist experience
- Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP)
- BA in Human Resources
- Benefit administration experience using Paycom or similar HRIS
- Payroll Experience
- Bilingual & biliterate a plus
