Provides quality clinical expressive therapy services to patient populations and their families/significant others. Serves as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team to provide therapeutic groups including: art/dance/music, psycho-education, social skills, verbal process, and structured leisure to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
What You Will Need
Required Education, Skills and/or Experience:
- A Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a relevant behavioral health field
- Music Therapy: Art Therapy & Dance Movement Therapy: A minimum of a Master’s Degree in a relevant behavioral health field
- Knowledge of developmental psychology, disease pathology and clinical needs of assigned population
- Must be able to maintain regular and punctual attendance, and must arrive at work with adequate time for program set-up.
- Ability to maintain information which is highly confidential
- Ability to clearly summarize pertinent clinical information via written correspondence and medical records documentation
- Must be able to demonstrate self-control in volatile or hostile situations
- Must be able to set therapeutic limits and maintain therapeutic distance with clients; maintains therapeutic boundaries with patients during treatment and following discharge
- Minimum of two years’ experience in a behavioral health inpatient setting
- Knowledge of psychiatric and addictive disease diagnoses and treatment
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification within 30 days of hire
- CPR certification within 90 days of hire
- Music Therapist- Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC)
- Art Therapist- Registered Art Therapist (ATR)
- Dance Movement Therapist- Registered Dance Movement Therapist (R-DMT)
- CADC if working in addiction services
