What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Manager position at Energy Systems Group?
ENERGY SYSTEMS GROUP® is looking for a Construction Manager to join our Public Sector Central team located in Chicago, Illinois. This position is onsite.
The Construction Manager interacts with, and oversees, the sub-contractors on the job site(s) to ensure the quality of work is met. This individual ensures the scope of work promised to the client is fulfilled. The Construction Manager protects customers interest and interacts with customers continually throughout the duration of various projects. The Construction Manager assists the Project Manager at his/her direction. This position requires that the employee is available to respond to client requests or problems during the contract phase, as well as during the warranty period, to fulfill ESGs obligation. Customer relations are a crucial part of this positions responsibilities. The Construction Manager interacts with customers on a one-on-one basis from the beginning to the end of the construction phase of projects.
The essential functions of the position include:
- Coordinates the subcontractors to ensure that project goals are being met timely and with highest quality
- Monitors labor, material, contractors and suppliers
- Assists Project Manager to deliver project on time and under cost
- Ensures customer satisfaction
- Assists with the transition between engineering and Project Manager
- Provides advice in the selection of the subcontractors and vendors to deliver the project per our requirement and standards
- Coordinates with governmental regulatory agencies for field inspections
- Maintains current working knowledge of technology used for projects
Your background includes:
- Five (5) years related construction experience
- Associates degree in construction related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
A bonus to have:
- Bachelors degree in construction related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- More than five (5) years related construction experience
