The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial operations to ensure strict adherence to federal regulations, FAR and GAAP. The role focuses on ensuring compliance with DCAA (Defense Contract Audit Agency) regulations, managing project-based accounting, and handling indirect costs. Accounting managers oversee daily accounting operations and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting. They lead month- and year-end close processes, manage general ledger activities, and support budgeting and forecasting efforts. Primary Responsibilities:
- Compliance – FAR and DCAA
- Project Accounting
- Indirect Rate Management
- Month End Close and Financial Statement creation
- Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
- Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
- Maintains financial security by following internal controls.
- Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations.
- Supervise accounting staff, payroll and accounts payable.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Subcontract PO maintenance
- Expense reporting, Time, and Payroll
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Required:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting
- Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in Accounting
- 5 years Government contracting experience
- 2 years Supervisory experience
- Attention to Detail
- US citizenship required
Preferred:
- Deltek Costpoint experience
- Concur Travel & Expense experience
- Fixed Asset management
