Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist

Job Summary
The Rehabilitation Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and autism, guiding them towards achieving their personal and professional goals. This position involves providing mentorship, education, and counseling to enhance the quality of life for clients. Responsibilities

• Provide individualized mentoring and support to clients with developmental disabilities and autism.
• Educate clients on employment labor laws and rights to empower them in the workforce.
• Develop and implement training programs that focus on skill-building and personal development.
• Conduct addiction counseling sessions as needed, offering guidance and resources for recovery.
• Collaborate with community organizations to facilitate workforce development opportunities for clients.
• Assist in recruiting suitable job placements that align with clients' skills and interests.
• Maintain accurate documentation of client progress and program effectiveness.
• Foster a supportive environment that encourages client independence and self-advocacy.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in rehabilitation counseling or a related counseling field is preferred
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of addiction counseling techniques is a plus.
• Proven ability in mentoring and training development within a rehabilitation context.
• Familiarity with employment labor laws and workforce development practices is beneficial.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with clients and stakeholders.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 30 per week
