What are the responsibilities and job description for the Host position at Eno's Pizza Tavern?
Eno's Pizza Tavern is seeking friendly, energetic hosts and hostesses! If you're warm, outgoing, calm under pressure, and have at least six months of restaurant hosting experience, you'd make a great addition to our team! Our hosts exude a strong sense of hospitality and a genuine welcome to all guests who enter into our space. This position requires a sense of hotel concierge mixed with smart service and guidance. The host is responsible for leading the guest(s) to their table to enjoy the Eno's dining experience.
You'll be expected to greet and seat our guests, manage reservations and walk-ins to facilitate dining room flow, and keep the front door area looking pristine. Host staff may also be occasionally asked to help clear and bus tables or assist in running food. Pay is extremely competitive (dependent on experience) plus tip-out during lunch shifts. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Hospitality
- Coordinates the operation and flow of the dining room during meal service periods through seating and placement of guests
- Communicates clearly with guests, providing a clear understanding of when the guests will be seated
- Adjusts guest seating flow to balance customers among the various server sections
- Graciously greets and seats guests with menus upon arrival. You must smile often!
- Manages special seating requests consistent with table availability and special seating requirements
- Relays messages to servers, bartenders, and managers as appropriate
- Assists with the duties of servers and server assistants as needed
- Checks table settings for proper presentation and completeness, and checks server areas for proper supplies
- At least six months of experience in a hospitality operation is preferred
- Ability to stand and walk for periods of up to eight hours at a time
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Must be able to speak clearly and listen attentively to guests and fellow employees
- Must be Food Handler certified
