Senior Project Manager – Renewable Energy Consulting (Solar + BESS)

Ensight Energy is hiring a Senior Project Manager to lead technical advisory and engineering consulting across a diverse portfolio of energy technologies and integrated solutions, including utility-scale solar PV, battery energy storage systems (BESS), wind, microgrids, and data center energy systems.

This hybrid role is ideal for a seasoned engineer with deep experience in Independent Engineering, Owner’s Engineering, and Technical Due Diligence. While project work may span global regions, candidates must be authorized to work and reside in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical due diligence for project financing, including preparation and review of detailed engineering reports.
• Collaborate with clients, developers, and financiers to ensure project success from early-stage development through COD.
• Conduct independent engineering assessments and technology reviews for major equipment, including PV modules, inverters, BESS, and microgrid components.
• Provide technical input and direction to internal project teams and external stakeholders.
• Review and evaluate commissioning test procedures and results to ensure compliance and performance.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables with precision and professionalism, consistently exceeding client expectations.
• Ensure all project work, including report generation, is completed within budget and aligned with client goals and team objectives.
• Review, evaluate, and provide expert opinions on equipment specifications and system design documentation.
• Analyze and assess project contractual agreements to identify risks and ensure technical alignment.
• Offer strategic insight on emerging technologies and evolving industry standards to support innovation and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering, science, finance, or a related field.
• Experience in providing Owner's Engineering and/or Independent Engineering services.
• 7 years of consulting or engineering experience in utility-scale solar and battery storage projects.
• Proficiency in reviewing project design documentation and contractual agreements.
• Experience in energy modeling and performance assessments.
• Strong facilitation skills and ability to work effectively with technical and commercial stakeholders.
• Background in renewable energy consulting or project development.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
• Ability to apply detailed knowledge of organizational procedures to make independent decisions and serve as a credible resource for senior management.
• Comfortable working with all levels of internal staff, as well as external clients and vendors.
• Must have authorization to work permanently in the U.S.
