Job Title: Supplier Quality Engineer II
Location: Richardson, TX 75082, USA
Assignment Duration: 6-month contract
Engagement Type: Contract (Possible Temp-to-Hire)
Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay rate - $36 per h on W2
Position Overview
The Quality Engineer II will be responsible for supplier quality management, corrective action implementation, and continuous improvement initiatives across distribution and manufacturing environments. This role serves as a key liaison between suppliers, distribution centres, and manufacturing sites to ensure product quality, compliance, and delivery performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor supplier performance to ensure compliance with quality and delivery requirements
- Drive product quality reliability through engineering analysis and process improvement
- Support product transition requirements using sound engineering judgment
- Participate in internal and external quality audits, including regulatory compliance audits
- Maintain and manage the Supplier Quality Ranking System
- Conduct supplier performance reviews, provide feedback, and establish process control plans
- Maintain accurate quality documentation, certifications, records, and database entries
- Prioritize and resolve critical customer complaints related to delivered products
- Support continuous quality improvement projects at internal and external locations
Travel Requirements
- Occasional international travel to Mexico may be required as a backup Quality Engineer
- Estimated travel: 1–2 trips within a 12-month period
- Travel duration: Approximately 1 week per trip
- Breakfast and lunch provided; dinner expenses reimbursed via expense submission
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Science, or a related technical field (master’s degree preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Supplier Quality or Supply Chain Quality roles
- Experience supporting Distribution Centers and Manufacturing environments
- Strong technical knowledge of products, systems, and integrated solutions
- In-depth understanding of quality standards and continuous improvement methodologies
- Experience with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies (certification preferred)
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to drive issues to resolution
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience working in cross-cultural and global environments
Preferred Skills
- Experience with automated corrective action systems (8D, MCAR, or similar)
- Supplier quality auditing experience
- Customer complaint resolution experience
- Data-driven quality analysis and reporting
