We’re looking for a Paralegal - Hybrid from Shakopee, MN The Employment & Immigration Paralegal will partner closely with in-house counsel and human resources on various employment law matters, oversee immigration program, and support investigations and litigation. The Employment & Immigration Paralegal must be organized, efficient, and flexible with attention to detail; thrive in a fast-paced environment; and welcome challenge and change. We offer flexibility We offer a diverse work environment Futureproof your career with a job in information security How you will make an impact: General Employment Conduct legal research on employment law issues in the U.S. and globally. Support HR team and in-house employment counsel to support and advise on day-to-day issues in areas including wage and hour law, hiring practices, disability accommodations, leaves, employee relations and disciplinary issues, and other matters. Help to manage and triage general HR inquiries; exercise strong judgment on escalating issues as appropriate. Maintain template employment documents, including employment agreements, separation agreements, and related documents to ensure compliance with evolving state and federal laws. Partner with in-house counsel to identify employment compliance and risk mitigation priorities and support projects to address those priorities. Assist with review and updating of HR and employment policies and procedures. Partner with HR and Compliance to manage mandatory employee trainings. Immigration Partner with external counsel to support and advise HR related to immigration. Oversee efficient and timely processing of visa applications, permanent residence applications, new sponsorship petitions, and related required immigration documents, working closely with employees, managers and HR, as well as external counsel. Maintain accurate and up-to-date immigration records. Maintain global immigration policy. Coordinate with managers and HR on business planning related to sponsored colleagues to ensure understanding of how business decisions impact immigration status. Maintain immigration documentation, such as Blanket L petition. Issue visa invitation letters for work travel, customer visits, and other business needs. Work with external counsel to coordinate international immigration matters, as needed. Investigations & Litigation Provide support related to administrative agency claims and litigation, as needed. Support internal investigations, from intake through fact-gathering and conclusion; partner with investigators and Compliance team to manage investigation files and records. Compile exhibits and documents for discovery/subpoena responses. Other Participate in special projects, including within the legal team and cross-functionally, as needed. Assist with review of staffing agency agreements, direct placement agency agreements, consulting agreements, and other service agreements, as needed. Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: 4 years of relevant experience. Bachelor’s Degree in Paralegal Studies or Legal Studies or a Bachelor’s Degree and a Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-accredited program. Must be able to lawfully work within the jurisdiction where the individual resides. Preferred Qualifications: Strong oral and written communication skills, research skills, strong organizational skills, sound judgment, thorough, and accurate with excellent attention to detail. Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite products, including Word and Power Point, SharePoint). Willingness to learn new technology as needed. Ability to identify and assess risks and escalate issues to in-house attorney, as needed. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and work streams to meet critical, short-term deadlines and thrive in a fast-paced environment. In house experience a plus, or experience working closely with in-house counsel. Understanding of, and experience with, general employment law matters, with immigration and/or litigation experience preferred.
