A fast-paced environmental organization in the environmental law field in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia just outside of Chattanooga, TN. needs a critical thinking, well organized, analytical, goal oriented, self-motivated litigation paralegal or attorney for this full-time position.
We are searching for a paralegal who is accustomed to handling time sensitive matters and capable of multitasking throughout the day. The candidate must possess strong organization, communication, writing, and technology skills. The paralegal will assist the attorneys in case review; document evidence, performing document review and filing; prepare mailings and/or shipping labels; and performing other types of legal support work as needed.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing chain of custody documents
- Document evidence in to case file
- Check or recheck ducments for accuracy
- Perform administrative duties (organize case files, etc.)
- Organize exhibits, documents, and evidence,
- Provide assistance with case settlements
- Tracking mailings inbound and outbound
- Internal and external communication with attorneys and staff
- ·Maintaining a Excel database
- Perform other functions as assigned.
Skills
- Highly organized with ability to effectively prioritize workflow, handle deadlines, multi-task and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Extensive computer and database expertise, including working with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.)
- Has ability to work independently and is able to take direction well.
- Highly organized and strong follow up skills
- Ability to maintain the integrity of confidential information
- Reliable with excellent attendance
- Drafting discovery preferred but not required
- Drafting subpoenas preferred but not required
- Paralegal associates degree or other relevant certification
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
