As an Optometric Technician at Westminster Eyecare Associates, you will play a vital role in supporting our eye care professionals by providing exceptional patient care and assisting with various clinical tasks. Responsibilities
- Assist optometrists during patient examinations and procedures.
- Must have Optometry related experience.
- Perform preliminary tests including visual acuity, tonometry, and retinal imaging.
- Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Educate patients on contact lens use and proper eye care practices.
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure all equipment is sanitized and functional.
- Manage appointment scheduling and follow-up communications with patients.
- Travel between required locations.
- Support the team in administrative tasks as needed to enhance patient flow.
Qualifications
- Experience as an optometric technician or in a related healthcare role is preferred.
- Strong understanding of ophthalmology practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients and staff.
- Ability to perform basic medical tasks such as taking vital signs and conducting preliminary tests.
- Familiarity with pediatric care principles is a plus.
- Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
