Objective / Purpose: The A&P Mechanic (aircraft and powerplant mechanic) at Epic Flight Academy maintains the airframe and engines of aircraft to meet FAA standards. This job involves tasks such as performing routine checks, repairs, and record-keeping related to inventory and component faults.
Areas of Responsibilities / Tasks:
- Responsible for the maintenance and preventive maintenance of Epic Aviation Aircraft, components, and equipment.
- Conducting regular inspections, repairs, and maintenance tasks on aircraft to comply with regulatory standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Determines airworthiness of aircraft and components IAW established procedures and Federal Aviation Regulations
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues in aircraft systems to identify and rectify problems promptly.
- Maintaining detailed records of all maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and parts replacement, to comply with aviation regulations and academy policies.
- Working closely with other maintenance personnel, flight instructors, and academy staff to ensure efficient communication and coordination in resolving technical issues.
- Being prepared to respond to unscheduled maintenance events and emergency repairs to minimize downtime and ensure the safety of aircraft.
- Staying informed about advancements in aircraft technology, new maintenance procedures, and regulatory changes through ongoing training and professional development.
- Must demonstrate the maturity, judgment, and analytical ability to perform all aspects of aircraft maintenance and preventive maintenance on Epic Aviation aircraft, and other outside aircraft customers.
Minimum Qualifications (Confirmable Formal Education, Certifications, Work/Industry Experience)
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Possession of a valid Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate issued by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
- Relevant hands-on experience in aircraft maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with and understanding of FAA regulations pertaining to aircraft maintenance and airworthiness.
Physical Demands:
- Regular handling of mechanical parts and tools.
- Ability to climb ladders and work in restricted areas.
Work Environment / Culture:
- Professional environment within the flight academy.
- Interaction with aircraft, equipment, and colleagues.
