What You’ll Do as an EPIC Psychiatrist

This role is about more than diagnoses and prescriptions—it’s about being a partner in every patient’s mental health journey. You’ll work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver personalized care and help patients overcome challenges.

Clinical Assessment

• Conduct in-depth psychiatric evaluations to diagnose mental health conditions accurately.
• Collect detailed medical histories, family backgrounds, and social context for a holistic understanding of each patient’s situation.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to craft a comprehensive view of patient needs.

Treatment Planning

• Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s unique needs.
• Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications as part of an integrative care approach.
• Recommend and deliver therapeutic interventions, including psychotherapy and counseling.

Therapeutic Interventions

• Employ a range of therapeutic techniques to support patients in managing their mental health.
• Monitor patient progress and adapt treatment plans as necessary.
• Provide crisis intervention during acute episodes, prioritizing patient safety and stability.

Collaboration and Consultation

• Partner with a multidisciplinary team, including psychologists, social workers, and primary care providers, to ensure seamless care delivery.
• Consult with specialists as needed to address the broader healthcare needs of patients.

Documentation and Record-Keeping

• Maintain accurate, up-to-date medical records, including assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.
• Adhere to strict legal and ethical standards for confidentiality and record management.

Education and Advocacy

• Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.
• Advocate for mental health needs within EPIC and the broader community.

Continuous Professional Development

• Stay current with the latest psychiatric research, treatments, and practices through ongoing education.
• Maintain all licensure and certification requirements.

What We’re Looking For

Qualifications

• Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of a psychiatry residency program.
• Board certification in psychiatry with a valid state medical license.

Skills and Competencies

• Strong diagnostic and assessment expertise.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with deep empathy for patients.
• A collaborative mindset to work seamlessly in a multidisciplinary care team.
