Job Summary
The Aerospace TIG Welder (GTAW) is responsible for performing precision Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW/TIG) on aerospace alloys to fabricate duct details and assemblies. This role requires adherence to aerospace quality standards, tight tolerances, and strict compliance with safety and environmental procedures.

- Fabricate duct details and assemblies by scribing, cutting, grinding, and fitting materials to blueprint specifications
- Perform manual GTAW (TIG) welding on Inconel and Stainless Steel (Titanium experience preferred)
- Weld material thicknesses ranging from .020" to .125" in accordance with AWS D17.1 aerospace welding standards
- Inspect welded parts using visual inspection and precision measuring tools to ensure conformance to specifications
- Operate hand tools and equipment including band saws, belt sanders, chop saws, rotary tools, and grinders
- Maintain compliance with all shop safety, environmental, and PPE requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year of hands-on welding experience, specifically TIG/GTAW and arc welding
- Experience welding Inconel and/or Stainless Steel with material thicknesses from .020" to .125"
- Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) certification required (AWS D17.1 preferred)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
- Strong math skills and attention to detail
- Excellent visual inspection capabilities
- Experience using precision inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, pi tape, and optical magnifiers
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a recognized welding degree or certification program with TIG/GTAW focus preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of TIG/GTAW welding experience in aerospace or similar precision environment
- Aerospace manufacturing environment requiring strict adherence to quality, safety, and environmental standards
- Use of PPE required at all times
