Locally owned Erie Food Co-op is a member-owned, full-service natural foods grocery store offering a wide variety of healthy foods, wellness, and body care products from local and national brands. What We Are Looking For:
Currently we are seeking applicants for a Full-Time Food Service Manager at our Downtown Location. This location is projected to open is March 10th, 2022.
This position would be responsible for the overall production of food products and customer experience for the Co-op Café in accordance with Erie Food Co-op's standards, practices and vision. The successful candidate will be available to work various shifts including days, nights, weekends and some holidays based on the needs of the business. The successful candidate should have:
- Leadership and team motivational skills
- Strong communication, listening and decision-making skills
- Organizational, time management and attention-to-detail skills
- Ability to develop and implement departmental budget
- Ability to develop, plan and implement practical systems to provide for efficient and productive department operations
- Accountability for all aspects of café department operations
- Experience with menu planning, costing and creating recipes
- Experience with providing excellent customer service
Preferred Education and Experience:
- H.S. diploma/GED. Some college a plus.
- Culinary degree or minimum three (3) years commercial cooking experience required.
- Minimum two (2) years management experience (to include hiring, training, evaluating, coaching, firing staff and financial goal setting) required, in retail environment.
- Combination of education, training and/or experience will be considered.
- Knowledge of special dietary needs and allergens required.
- Customer service experience in a public-serving position required.
- Computer skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Internet applications
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
- Certification in Erie County food handling required; or be willing and able to be certified.
- Certification in Adult First Aid/CPR/AED; or be willing and able to be certified.
- Willingness and ability to continue education/training on but not limited to products, natural and whole foods, and the grocery and cooperative industries.
