Erwin Electric, Inc. is currently seeking a Senior Estimator in the Tampa Bay Area.
Total compensation for Estimator is based on experience and/or licensing. Candidates with exceptional experience and a successful history of performance will receive top pay.
Perform all aspects of cost estimating for projects ranging from $100K to $10 Million and include medical, schools, car dealerships, government, airport, multifamily, hospitality, healthcare, retail, restaurants, and many others.
Our estimators must be capable of both bidding and winning the job which often requires salesmanship and negotiation skills as well as the ability to build long-term customer relationships.

Our estimators must be capable of both bidding and winning the job which often requires salesmanship and negotiation skills as well as the ability to build long-term customer relationships.
Job Responsibilities:
- Review specifications and drawings to determine the scope of work and contents of the estimate
- Attend or request Prebid walk-throughs
- Prepare estimates using Trimble Accubid Anywhere and analyze the results for accuracy and complete content
- Request quotes for materials, subcontractors, and buyout packages
- Identify qualified suppliers/subcontractors. Review quotes for completeness with plans and specifications
- Itemize and quantify all incidentals necessary in preparing the bid packages including rental, tools, and supplies
- Prior to the issuing of the formal bid package, provide to the Chief Estimator a detailed review of scope, technical requirements, and pricing for the estimated bid package
- Meet with general contractors to identify project needs
- Occasionally hand-deliver bids to general contractors
- Attend tabletop events with general contractors
- After the successful bid at project turnover, meet with Project Management and Lead to fully explain the estimate, scope of work, quotes and offer aspects for the successful transition of the project
- Responsible for the timely completion of all client-required documents
- Draft scope letter inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications
- Provide cost-saving options and value engineering ideas to help the customer and company obtain a competitive added value and competitive edge
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent tech training
- Minimum of 5 years of proven electrical estimating experience. Accubid or similar computer estimating experience is required.
- Experience with Accubid Live Count a plus.
- Experience with Bluebeam Revu a plus
- Prior Journeyman field experience is preferred
- Ability to work in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment with a drive to get the job done.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and other computer skills.
- Prior electrical field experience is preferred.
- Must have a solid understanding of the electrical construction process in a wide variety of project types
