About the Role:

The Field Service Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of various technical systems and equipment at client sites. This position involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining complex electrical and mechanical systems, including fire alarm systems, compressors, and fiber optic networks. The technician will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan. Working independently in diverse environments, the technician must deliver timely and effective solutions to technical issues while maintaining high safety standards. Ultimately, this role ensures customer satisfaction through expert service delivery and technical support.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in troubleshooting electrical and computer hardware systems.
  • Familiarity with fire alarm systems and fiber optic technology.
  • Ability to use test equipment and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to client sites.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical certification in electrical or electronic systems (e.g., EPA, NICET).
  • Experience with compressor maintenance and repair.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance best practices.
  • Training in fiber optics installation and testing.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform on-site troubleshooting and repair of electrical, mechanical, and computer hardware systems.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and testing of equipment such as compressors, fire alarm systems, and fiber optic installations.
  • Utilize test equipment and power tools to diagnose faults and verify repairs.
  • Document service activities, including maintenance performed, parts used, and recommendations for future service.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to explain technical issues and provide guidance on system operation and maintenance.

Skills:

The required skills such as troubleshooting and electrical troubleshooting are essential for diagnosing and resolving complex system issues efficiently. Proficiency with computer hardware enables the technician to handle modern equipment and interface with digital control systems. Knowledge of compressors and fire alarm systems ensures the technician can maintain and repair critical safety and operational equipment.
